What is a FamilyTherapist?

Family Therapists are highly trained to recognize a family’s patterns of behavioral influences on an individual.

They may meet with the individual one-on-one, or with the family as a group.

Family therapy is generally brief, solution-focused, and effective.  Family Therapists have a Master’s or Doctorate in marriage and family therapy, and at least 2 years of supervised clinical experience before they can see patients at their own private practice.

In addition, many Family Therapists also perform marriage counseling as well as individual therapy.
